OUR STORY

 

Action Air was begun as a concept tossed around in the late 1980’s between two good friends Kevin Horne and Eric Dunn. They both were working in the air conditioning and electrical trades in the early 80s. Both had advanced about as far as they could in their present positions and the opportunity came up to take over the business of a retiring electrical company. Action Air and Electric began in 1989 on a wing and prayer with two enthusiastic friends willing to stick their necks out and make the business work. Within 3 yrs the company had grown and had contracts with major builders for the wiring and heating and air portions of their new home construction.

The two-man company quickly grew into 15. The small rented space was replaced by a location of their own with more shop space. In the 90s Action Air and Electric mostly focused on the new construction market. Around 2000 they refocused their resources toward marketing service and replacement of air conditioning, which were becoming a lot more prevalent in the Chattanooga area due to aging TVA financed heat pumps installed in the 80s and early 90s. This turned out to be the right decision for Action air and Electric.

The company, now “Action Air” began pushing affordable service agreements, lining up equipment that was a good match for the replacement market, and staffing installers and service personnel that envisioned the company as they did. Management encouraged training as well as trade schooling for the employees to advance themselves in their chosen professions with weekly in house training. The old adage “the customer is always right” was instilled in everyone’s way of thinking. “No matter what it takes” was the bottom line concept for customer satisfaction.

Now, a medium sized company as far as industry standards go, Action Air likes their fit. Not too big for a personal element to customer service, and big enough to provide any service needed. Although they are always looking for innovative ways to market themselves, their primary business comes from referrals from other customers. Anyone looking for “their guy” for all their heating and air needs need look no further for a company.

The company is only as good as its employees. In business you only have one shot at winning a loyal customer. Treating the customer with care, compassion and integrity is the only way to grow a business. It is our goal at Action Air that this is achieved 100 percent of the time.
